Application Procedure

1. Eligibility Check
   • Before applying, candidates should ensure that they fulfill the eligibility criteria and other norms mentioned in the advertisement.
2. Registration on NATS Portal
   • Candidates for Graduate Apprentice (B.E / B.Tech) and Technician Apprentice (Diploma) are required to register on the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS 2.0) portal: NATS Portal. Non-registered candidates are likely to be rejected.
3. Downloading the Application Form
   • For downloading the application form, candidates are advised to visit the following website link: DRDO Website. Candidates should fill in the correct details for all the fields and upload scanned copies of all mandatory documents.
4. Submitting the Application
   • Candidates with B.E / B.Tech / Diploma may send their application directly to the email [email protected] in the given application format as Annexure ‘A’.
5. Document Verification
   • Candidates are required to bring a signed printout of the application along with the originals of the documents submitted online at the time of joining at CHESS, Hyderabad.
6. Reservation Policy
   • Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS categories will be applicable as per the provision of the Apprentice Act 1961, Apprentice Rules 1992, and Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules 2015.

Note:

• Last Date for Receipt of Application: 21 days from the date of advertisement in Employment News. Online applications submitted after the last date will not be accepted. Incomplete or partially filled application forms will also not be accepted.

Terms & Conditions for Selection of Apprentices

1. Selection Criteria
   • Selection will be based on the percentage of marks secured by candidates at the essential qualification level OR a personal interview through video conferencing (virtual) mode for shortlisted candidates only.
2. Eligibility Based on Passing Year
   • Only fresh pass-out candidates (passing their respective courses in 2021, 2022, and 2023) can apply. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination earlier than 2021 are not eligible.
3. Post-Graduate Qualification
   • Candidates with post-graduate qualifications are not eligible to apply.
4. Regular Candidates
   • Only those candidates who have completed the qualifying examination as regular candidates are eligible to apply.
5. Training/Job Experience
   • Degree/Diploma holders who have training or job experience for a period of one year or more after attaining the essential qualification are not eligible for being engaged as an apprentice under the Act.
6. Training Period
   • The period of training will be 12 months commencing from the execution of the contract of Apprenticeship.
7. Caste Certificates
   • Candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, EWS categories shall produce certificates in the prescribed format issued by the competent authority.
8. Medical Fitness
   • Selected candidates have to submit a ‘Medical Fitness Certificate’ at the time of joining.
9. Verification of Credentials
   • Verification of credentials will be done for selected candidates prior to the creation of the contract. In case of any deviation from or non-conformity with the desired qualification, the candidature of the candidate shall be summarily rejected.
10. No TA/DA
    • No TA/DA will be paid to the applicants called at any stage of the selection process.
11. Canvassing
    • Canvassing in any form will result in the disqualification of candidature.
12. Suppression of Facts
    • Suppression of facts will lead to disqualification at any stage of the selection process.
13. Number of Seats
    • CHESS reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of seats for apprenticeship training.
14. Withdrawal/Cancellation
    • CHESS reserves the right to withdraw or cancel the advertisement/selection process.
15. Accommodation/Transport
    • Apprentices will not be provided any quarters/hostel accommodations/transport by this establishment during the training period.
16. Right of Absorption
    • The offer of fellowship does not confer on fellows any right of absorption in DRDO.
